Ice Fishing: The Latest Gadget





Garmin International, Inc has unveiled their new Panoptix LiveScope Ice Fishing Bundle at this year’s ICAST. Powered by a lightweight lithium battery that helps anglers cover more ground on ice, this Chartplotter and transducer bundle weighs one-third of other leading acid batteries, and its battery capacity holds up to 65% more. Garmin Vice President of Global Sales, Dan Bartel says that, “Now with a lithium battery, powering your LiveScope has never been easier. It’s lighter to carry around from hole to hole, and it’ll keep you fishing for hours longer than before”.





To allow anglers to see fish up to 200 feet below ice, the LiveScope Ice Fishing Bundle featured two modes – liveScope forward and liveScope down. Both views structure in real-time whilst scanning sharp sonar images of fish swimming. Bartel adds that “Garmin was the first to deliver live-scanning sonar technology to ice anglers, transforming the way they pinpoint and follow schools of fish below the ice”.  





Get Fishing-Ready For All Seasons





The LiveScope fishing bundle is adaptable. It has a built-in flasher to provide a clear view of jigs and fish. The transducer also can easily be adjusted to the angler’s fishing preferences and techniques. It can be done whilst determining where to drill the next hole. The LiveScope Ice Fishing Bundle also transitions between seasons with the new LiveScope Boat Kit that includes a trolling motor mount, making the change from colder months into the summer season that much easier.





The LiveScope Fishing Bundle is well-equipped for hard water fishing. Its ECHOMAP UDH 93sv touchscreen combo with key assist is easy to use and allows for customisation. Anglers can use combination screens to access information important to them, such as flasher, son, and map data. Its programmable keys are glove-friendly and allow anglers quick access to their favorite pages. 





All the accessories that come with the bundle fit in a portable carry case. In the box, you will find; ECHOMAP™ UHD 93sv chartplotter, Panoptix ice fishing mount, tilt/swivel mount, power cable, documentation, portable fishing kit, bag with handle, rechargeable battery and a battery charger.





The LiveScope Ice Fishing Bundle will be available from September 2021. Garmin has also added new models to its fishing range – the Live Scope LVS32-IF ice fishing transducer with LiveScope Down and LiveScope Forward modes, and the new STRIKER Vivid 5cv Ice Fishing Bundle.
