Please scroll down to read more about this fabulous catamaran.  ACCESSIBILITY AND OPERATION At the helm, all the Yanmar engine controls and the B&G instrumentation are ergonomically laid out and the sail controls are easily accessible.  There is plenty of room for two people and the design makes sailing this boat shorthanded a joy. The power winch on the coach roof is perfect for hoisting the mainsail. It also comes in useful when operating the dinghy davit. Access up-to-the boom is via a couple of steps, the boom itself is low and makes stowing the mainsail and zipping the stack-pack straightforward. Having the raised helm neatly integrated with the cockpit makes communication up to and down easily. This means the helm has great visibility – forward and importantly aft – so this is especially useful if docking stern-to. The composite bimini has sliding hatches, making seeing aloft and setting sails simple. Roll-down clear screens are available for protection should the weather not be cooperative.  PERFORMANCE UNDER SAIL AND POWER Under sail, the Lagoon 42 Catamaran feels balanced. The sixty-seven-foot mast is set slightly further aft than on previous models, reducing pitching and as a result, allowing for a self-tacking genoa set on a curved genoa track. The mainsail is set on a shorter boom and is just under 600 square feet.  It is slightly smaller than you might expect. As a result, it is easy to handle and balanced by the larger than usual foresail. The two sails work well together and off-wind delivered over 8 knots average in 17-19 knots true in a slight chop.  With a gennaker or spinnaker, the Lagoon 42 will deliver mid-teens performance in the right conditions. Under power, the upgraded to the 57HP. You can expect 8 knots at 2600rpm in fairly smooth water.  LIVING SPACE The sliding door to the saloon opens wide and connects the cockpit with the saloon on one level. The U-shaped galley has a three-burner stove, extensive workspace, and storage.  Fridge, freezer, and microwave are all neatly integrated. The central chrome-covered mast support provides a great hand-hold when on the move. Moreover, it also allows for a large forward lounge area with plenty of seating. The high vertical saloon windows provide great light and panoramic views and plenty of headroom. Two neat opening windows forward give generous ventilation at anchor. It is a very enjoyable and comfortable living space. This process provides high-quality composite optimizes weight saving without compromising strength. Lagoon 46 Catamaran features   PRACTICAL COMFORT Onboard the Lagoon 46, there are multiple areas to relax with the prime position being huge sun-loungers on the fly-bridge behind the helm-station. The fly-bridge itself is sociable and easily seats six. The neatly designed forward cockpit area has comfortable cushions flush with the deck and an open walkway onto the trampoline. The aft cockpit is spacious and well thought out. When the cockpit table is not in use it folds down and there is an ingenious sliding seat that folds beneath the table, allowing access from the cockpit to the flybridge on the port side. Also in  Lagoon 46 Catamaran’s cockpit, there is a sink, front-loading fridge and plenty of storage on the starboard side and forward to port an extensive countertop with a built-in icebox. The salon itself is spacious and sumptuous. The galley is exceptional with copious counter space and storage, with a big sliding window that opens to the cockpit. Natural light streams through the wrap-around vertical windows, and there’s a retractable sash window forward for maximum ventilation as well as passing drinks to the forward cockpit. The shorter boom and high aspect mainsail, with a traveller adjusted using an electric captive winch, makes for easier sail handling and manoeuvring as well as optimized performance. All the navigation tools and sail controls are neatly organized and in easy reach at the Fly-bridge. The narrower hulls below the waterline create less drag, but with the chine, there is no compromise to interior space, so better performance and better accommodation! With electric winches where needed, autopilot and the latest B&G navigation equipment sailing this boat can be sailed comfortably short-handed. With cable steering, the helm feedback is excellent. Included in the sale is the upgraded 57hp diesel which, is responsive and smooth while under motor.  On the Lagoon 46 Catamaran there is a choice of dinghy davit, the standard system operated with a captive electric winch, or you could select the tender-lift option and have it double as a bathing platform when the dinghy is launched.   GETTING AROUND THE LAGOON 46 CATAMARAN The transom steps are wide, giving easy and safe transfer to and from the dinghy, and the two steps up to the cockpit are shallow. The side decking is wide with flush hatches and plenty of handholds when moving forward or aft. Access up-to the fly-bridge is from either side of the boat from the side deck, and from the cockpit port side, with wide safe steps. Up forward the transition from trampoline to the forward cockpit is flush, with no stepping down and the cowling for the anchor windlass makes a great tabletop. All the heritage, tradition and quality of Lagoon have been encapsulated in the Lagoon 46, and with advanced design performance and superior comfort, this is going to be a stunningly successful boat.
